Phillip Rotherham Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified an individual who passed away in a single-vehicle accident in Peebles.

Phillip Rotherham, aged 87, was transported to the hospital following the incident that occurred on Whitehaugh Park around 18:25 on Thursday, but he subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

His 80-year-old spouse, who was a passenger in the same silver Honda HRV, was also admitted to the hospital for medical care.

Mr. Rotherham’s family expressed that the loss of a cherished father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and husband is “devastating”.
A statement issued through Police Scotland remarked: “He lived a long life, but at an active 87, we feel he has departed from us too soon.

“In addition to being an engaged member of his community, Phillip was a reserved and considerate individual who had a passion for nature.

“His generosity and thoughtfulness will be profoundly missed, and his absence creates a significant void in all our lives.”

They expressed gratitude to the emergency services for their efforts at the scene and to the local community for its “compassion during this challenging time”.

Police indicated that their investigations are ongoing and urged anyone with information to come forward.

Sgt. Philip Winning stated: “Our thoughts remain with the family as we proceed with our inquiries into the collision.”
