Paul Rucker Obituary, Death; – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle in northeast Charlotte early on Sunday morning, as reported by the police.
Records indicated that 44-year-old Kesha Jackson faced charges for driving with a revoked license, failing to register the vehicle, and lacking liability insurance.
The individual who lost his life in the incident was identified as 59-year-old Paul Rucker. The collision reportedly took place at approximately 2:20 a.m. on Sunday, September 28, along East W.T. Harris Boulevard near Old Concord Road.
Upon the arrival of officers, they discovered Rucker unresponsive, alongside a damaged bicycle, a Ford Focus with front-end damage, Jackson, and a passenger in the roadway. Preliminary investigations suggest that Rucker was riding his bicycle westbound in the center of the street when he was hit from behind by Jackson.
Paramedics declared Rucker deceased at the scene of the accident. No additional injuries were reported.
Reports have indicated that neither speed nor impairment contributed to Jackson’s involvement in the incident. It remains uncertain whether impairment was a factor for Rucker, as toxicology results are still awaited.
