Ostin Roca Obituary, Death; – Police have identified the man who was hit and killed in a hit-and-run in High Point last week.

On Friday at 6:27 p.m., the HPPD, High Point Fire Department and Guilford County EMS responded to a crash involving a pedestrian on Dillon Road at Bales Chapel Road.

Police say Ostin Roca, 26, died at the scene.
According to police, a witness contacted 911 and reported that the vehicle that hit the victim continued driving after striking them. Officers located the driver shortly afterwards. One suspect, a 72-year-old High Point man, received a citation for misdemeanor hit and run.

The preliminary investigation determined that the victim was already lying in the roadway when they were struck. It is not known why they were lying in the roadway, but no evidence suggests they had been struck by any other vehicles before this crash.

The roadway was dark, and the victim was wearing black clothing, police say.
