Niles Tilenius,William Johnston Obituary, Death; – Two individuals who lost their lives in a small aircraft accident just east of the runway at the Erie Municipal Airport in Colorado earlier this month have been named. They have been confirmed as Niles Tilenius and William Johnston, as reported by the Weld County Coroner’s Office.
Tilenius, aged 22, hailed from San Mateo County, California, while Johnston, aged 21, was from Hillsborough County, Florida.
According to investigators, the small plane went down at approximately 3:32 p.m. on October 19. At the time of the incident, there were two people aboard the aircraft.
A spokesperson for the Erie police informed CBS News Colorado that FAA investigators arrived at the site. They indicated that both the FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are conducting an investigation into the crash.
Erie is situated about 25 miles northwest of Denver and 13 miles east of Boulder.
