Nicole Smith Obituary, Death; – The identity of the young woman who tragically lost her life after being hit by a PennDOT plow truck in Crawford County has been confirmed.
County Coroner Eric Coston reported that 19-year-old Nicole Smith was fatally injured shortly after 7 p.m. on Friday while she was walking along Route 27, east of Meadville, in West Mead Township.
Coston noted that Smith was dressed in dark clothing and was on the westbound shoulder of Route 27 at the time of the incident. According to Pennsylvania State Police, the truck was traveling westward when the collision occurred. She was declared dead at the scene.
