Nicholas Strout Obituary, Death;- A 35-year-old man has lost his life following a car accident that resulted in a fire during the night in Casco, Maine.

The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office informed NBC10 Boston affiliate News Center Maine that deputies arrived at the scene around 1:15 a.m. on Sunday to respond to a crash that involved a fire on State Park Road, close to the Casco/Naples town line.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee completely consumed by flames, with the driver, identified as Nicholas Strout, found outside the vehicle suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Strout, who resided in Hiram, was transported to Bridgton Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, as reported by officials to News Center Maine.

As per an initial investigation, authorities stated that Strout was heading west on State Park Road towards Naples when his vehicle veered off the road and collided with a large tree.

State Park Road was shut down for several hours after the incident.

The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing; however, investigators suspect that speed and alcohol may have played a role, according to News Center Maine.
