Michael Martinez Obituary, Death; – A pedestrian lost his life after being hit by a vehicle on Sunday night in Salem.
Shortly before 10 p.m., emergency callers informed authorities that a man, later identified as 52-year-old Michael Martinez, had been struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Silverton Road Northeast and 60th Silverton Road Northeast. According to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the location and is cooperating with the investigation, as stated by MCSO. No citations or arrests have been issued.
“We offer our heartfelt condolences to his family and all those impacted by this tragic incident,” MCSO remarked. Silverton Road was closed for about three-and-a-half hours while the investigation took place.
