Michael Hughes Obituary, Death; – A 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of murder in the stabbing death of her 42-year-old husband in Riverside County last week, police announced Tuesday.
Officers were called to an “unknown problem” on the 1200 block of West Eighth Street in Corona, where they found a man with multiple stab wounds on Friday, the Corona Police Department stated in a news release.
The victim, identified as 42-year-old Michael Hughes, was found with significant abdominal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
“Corona Police officers interviewed family members and determined that the male sustained his injuries during an argument with his wife, Malena Johnson (33 years of Corona),” police stated in the news release.
Johnson was found at the location when police arrived and was taken into custody without incident. She was later booked on suspicion of murder and taken to the Robert Presley Detention Center. No further details about the events leading up to the stabbing, or what the argument was about, were provided.
