Michael Christopher Dodge Obituary, Death; – The motorcyclist who tragically lost his life in an accident on School House Road during Thanksgiving morning has been identified as a 39-year-old resident of the area, as reported by the police.
Old Saybrook Police Chief William Onofrio confirmed that the motorcyclist was Michael Christopher Dodge.
Emergency responders were dispatched to School House Road at approximately 1:20 a.m. on Thursday following a single-vehicle accident involving a motorcycle. Upon arrival, law enforcement discovered that Dodge — the sole operator of the motorcycle — had sustained critical injuries. Emergency medical teams administered life-saving interventions, but Onofrio stated that he succumbed to the injuries he incurred in the accident.
School House Road was temporarily closed on Thursday between Day Drive and Cinnamon Ridge while the Old Saybrook Police Department’s Accident Reconstruction Team conducted an investigation into the incident, according to Onofrio. The roadway was reopened by 6:15 a.m.
Authorities are actively pursuing the investigation into the crash.
