Jaklyon Larry, aged 26, was taken into custody on a charge of fleeing the scene of a personal injury accident that led to a fatality. The police provided this update in a statement released on Wednesday morning.
25-year-old Matthew Siles, a resident of Omaha, lost his life in the hit-and-run incident that occurred near 43rd and Cuming in the Midtown area on December 17.
Investigators established that a Tesla was traveling eastbound on Cuming Street when a man was hit while attempting to cross Cuming Street in a northbound direction. Siles was identified as the victim the following day, December 18.
Authorities suspect that the Tesla collided with Siles in the center lane and subsequently fled the scene heading east. The vehicle was located near 37th and Dodge Streets, but the driver remains unidentified.
