Mathew T Jopke Obituary, Death; – The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a Lodi resident who lost his life following a collision on Madison’s east side on Friday morning. Mathew T. Jopke, aged 37, succumbed to injuries sustained in an accident that occurred at 3:56 a.m. on North Stoughton Road and State Highway 30.
According to police reports, a driver allegedly disregarded a red traffic signal, resulting in a collision with two vehicles that were exiting Highway 30 onto Stoughton Road. Jopke was declared deceased at the scene, and a forensic examination was conducted on the same day. Further testing is currently in progress.
The incident is still under investigation by the City of Madison Police Department in conjunction with the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office. The driver involved is facing charges of homicide due to intoxicated use of a vehicle and recklessly endangering safety.
