Mary Halcomb Obituary, Death; – The coroner of Peoria County has confirmed the identity of the 20-year-old woman who was fatally shot on Friday evening. The Peoria Police Department arrived at the 1400 block of South Griswold at approximately 10:41 p.m. on Friday following a report of a shooting incident.
Eighteen-year-old Nathaniel Archuleta has been apprehended and is facing charges that include involuntary manslaughter, reckless discharge of a firearm, possession of a handgun by an individual under 21, and lack of a Firearm Owner’s Identification (FOID) card.
Mary Halcomb, a resident of Mapleton, was declared deceased at the scene. An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday, as stated by the coroner. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
