Maribel Hernandez Obituary, Death; – Five individuals, including four minors, lost their lives in a collision on Sunday afternoon at the junction of NC 20 and Purdie-Hall Road, as reported by the North Carolina Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. when a commercial truck traveling eastbound on NC 20 struck an SUV heading south on Purdie-Hall Road. Authorities indicated that the SUV driver failed to yield at the intersection, entering the truck’s path.

The SUV driver, identified as 36-year-old Maribel Hernandez from Red Springs, along with the four children in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the commercial truck sustained no injuries.

The North Carolina Highway Patrol has confirmed that no charges will be brought against anyone involved in the incident, attributing the fault to the SUV driver. This intersection is situated between Tar Heel and Saint Pauls.
