Maria H Kempf Obituary, Death;- A 27-year-old woman from Fresno lost her life when her electric bicycle collided with a GMC Denali truck on state Route 39 in Walnut Creek Township.

The accident took place around 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday on Route 39, just east of County Road 135, as reported by the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office.

Maria H. Kempf, who was riding a Biktrix electric bicycle, was heading west on the shoulder of state Route 39 and had stopped to make a left turn into the driveway of Walnut Creek Cheese’s main office, according to the report.

As she began her turn, her bicycle entered the path of a westbound 2015 GMC Denali, leading to a collision with the passenger side of the truck. The GMC Denali was operated by a 27-year-old man from Millersburg.

Kempf was wearing a reflective vest and had a functioning flashing rear light, as stated in the report. The driver of the truck was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident. Kempf was declared dead at the scene by Holmes County Coroner Dr. Leon Miller.

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the incident.
