Marco Ramirez Obituary, Death; – The man killed in what Nashville Police said was a case of mistaken identity has been identified as Marco Ramirez, 42. Ramirez was shot Oct. 2 at an apartment complex on Old Franklin Road in Antioch died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Nashville Police were called to the Waterleaf Apartments about 8:30 p.m. Ramirez was found next to his car in the parking lot suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

According to police, Dorian Brooks and his girlfriend were in an argument in the parking lot. She was moving out and the woman told Brooks she was going to have her ex-boyfriend come pick her up, police said.

That’s when Ramirez, who did not know Brooks or his girlfriend, pulled into the parking lot.

“In an interview with detectives, Brooks admitted to shooting at the 42-year-old’s vehicle as it came by them without seeing who was inside,” police said in their statement.

Brooks was booked into the Downtown Detention Center with no bond listed.
