Manuel Perez Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the tow truck driver who tragically lost his life on Sunday morning on Route 19 in Paterson, near the Valley Road exit.
At approximately 11 a.m. on Sunday, the tow truck driver, identified as 64-year-old Manuel Perez from Paterson, had pulled over on the southbound lanes of Route 19 to assist a disabled vehicle. This information was provided by Rob Rowan from the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, who is acting as a spokesperson for the Paterson Police Department.
During this time, Perez was struck by another vehicle, which subsequently overturned. The driver of that vehicle was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center with injuries. Unfortunately, Perez was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by Rowan. The Paterson Police Department Traffic Unit is currently conducting an investigation into the incident.
