Manual Correa Obituary, Death; – A man who was fatally shot during a dispute in a Southcrest alley last week has been identified by San Diego police as a 46-year-old resident of the area where the incident occurred.

According to police, Manual Correa was killed on National Avenue near 37th Street shortly before midnight on November 27, as reported by San Diego police homicide Lieutenant Jud Campbell in a news release. Investigators suspect that Correa engaged in an argument with a group of individuals, which escalated to both Correa and another assailant drawing handguns and exchanging gunfire, Campbell stated.

Correa sustained injuries from the gunfire and succumbed to his wounds before paramedics could transport him to a medical facility. Authorities are uncertain whether the other assailant was injured during the exchange. Investigators noted that the shooter departed with the group in a white Lexus prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

On Wednesday, the vehicle was located through the automated license plate reader system in a neighborhood in Ridgeview/Webster, where it was found parked in the driveway of a residence on 49th Street near Federal Boulevard. Several individuals inside the vehicle were detained, and the Lexus was seized as evidence during a search of the property around 10:40 a.m., according to Campbell.
