Cindy Uerkvitz Atherholt Obituary, Death; – Authorities are conducting an investigation following the fatal incident involving a woman on Wednesday evening, December 4, in the vicinity of US 74 W and US 17 S. As reported by the Leland Police Department, 56-year-old Cindy Uerkvitz Atherholt was struck shortly after 5:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the police statement, preliminary findings suggest that the vehicle was traveling westbound on U.S. 74 when Atherholt unexpectedly entered the travel lane and was subsequently hit. The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries. Currently, no charges have been filed as the investigation remains ongoing.
