Maddie Elizabeth Fletcher Obituary, Death; – A fatal hit-and-run incident occurred on Highway 1 in Monterey on Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. A spokesperson for the CHP reported that at approximately 9:48 a.m., a two-vehicle collision was reported on northbound Highway 1, just beyond Aguajito Road.
The investigation revealed that a silver Nissan collided with a black Honda, causing the Honda to lose control, veer off the roadway, and strike a tree. The driver of the Nissan did not stop and continued to drive away from the scene.
The deceased victim has been identified as 19-year-old Maddie Elizabeth Fletcher from Shelby, North Carolina, as confirmed by the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. The driver of the Honda was declared dead at the scene.
