Lorena De La Torre-Luna,Victor Medina Castro Obituary, Death; – A 53-year-old man was identified as having passed away several days following a suspected DUI collision on East Truxtun Avenue on September 28. Additionally, a 47-year-old woman also lost her life in the incident.

According to the Kern County coroner, Victor Medina Castro, 53, from Bakersfield, was a passenger in a vehicle that was struck from behind by a Dodge Durango at approximately 11:14 p.m. in the vicinity of East Truxtun Avenue and Miller Street, as reported by the Bakersfield Police Department.

The driver of the vehicle in which Castro was riding, Lorena De La Torre-Luna, 47, succumbed to her injuries at the scene. Authorities suspect that speed and alcohol may have contributed to the crash.

The driver implicated in the incident was held by security personnel until officers from the Bakersfield Police Department arrived. Castro was subsequently transported to Kern Medical, where he passed away on October 1.
