Lewis Morgan Obituary, – The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has formally charged an individual with murder in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in the early hours of the morning, resulting in one fatality.
Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones reported that authorities received a 911 call at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, September 8, regarding a person who had a gunshot wound victim in their vehicle. The caller subsequently transported the victim to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
The victim, identified as 31-year-old Victor Lewis Morgan from Birmingham, was taken to EMAC in Opelika, where he was pronounced dead at 2:17 a.m. on the same day.
Investigators established that the shooting transpired on Walnut Street, south of Opelika, following an altercation. The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Randall Eugene Pearson, has been arrested and charged with murder.
