Leo Molenda Obituary, Death; – Authorities in Ironton are actively seeking a suspect vehicle involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident and are requesting assistance from the public.

As reported by Ironton Police Captain Brian Pauley, the incident occurred shortly before 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the intersection of South 7th Street and Adams Street. He noted that officers were in close proximity and arrived at the scene within minutes.

Captain Pauley stated that officers provided first aid to the victim until paramedics arrived, who subsequently transported the individual to St. Marys in Huntington. He later confirmed that the victim succumbed to injuries this morning. The victim has been identified as 63-year-old Leo Molenda, a resident of Ironton.

Captain Pauley indicated that there is currently no information available regarding the suspect vehicle. Efforts are underway to locate neighbors with security cameras that may have recorded the incident, but no footage has been found thus far.

Pauley and the Ironton Police Department are encouraging local residents to review their security footage for any unusual activity between 6:50 p.m. and 7 p.m., or shortly thereafter. Individuals with any relevant information are urged to contact Captain Pauley at 740-532-5606.
