Lawanna J Lewis Obituary, Death; – Two siblings have been charged with the murder of a Lyft driver in Louisiana, followed by a joyride in her vehicle to Texas, as stated in a press release from the local sheriff’s office.

Ethan Bush, aged 23, and Tristan Bush, aged 26, were located in Harris County before the younger brother died while attempting to flee from law enforcement.

The inquiry commenced on Friday when the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana responded to a report of a woman discovered deceased in a ditch with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 62-year-old Lawanna J. Lewis, according to a CPSO press release.
The vehicle was identified hours later in the Houston area, where the brothers were operating it. This led to a high-speed chase involving the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.
Ultimately, the duo exited the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot, with Ethan jumping onto a nearby highway.

As per a traffic release record from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, he was tragically struck by a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado and died.

The driver of that vehicle was reported to be “cooperative” with law enforcement and “did not exhibit any signs of intoxication,” according to the traffic release.

Tristan was subsequently discovered hiding in a backyard two hours later.

The elder Bush brother is now awaiting extradition to Louisiana and has been charged with second-degree murder, as indicated by the Calcasieu press release.

Judge Bobby Holmes has set his bail bond at $2.5 million.

“The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are anticipated,” the press release stated.

According to arrest records released by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and reviewed by KPLC, Tristan has a history of multiple arrests by law enforcement.
In 2022, he was apprehended for trespassing after being forbidden and for resisting an officer.

Tristan was arrested in Lafayette a year later for using force or violence to resist an officer.

His younger sibling has no prior criminal record.

A fundraiser has been established on GoFundMe to assist Lewis’ family with the expenses related to her funeral.
