Laurie Kimberly Cantu Obituary, Death; – The Kern County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of one of the two individuals who perished in a trailer fire as 54-year-old Laurie Kimberly Cantu from Bakersfield. Homicide detectives have arrived at the location and taken over the investigation.

The name of the second victim is being withheld until their next of kin can be notified. Authorities are encouraging anyone with relevant information to contact the Kern County Sheriff’s Office at (661) 861-3110 or the Secret Witness line at (661) 322-4040.

According to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, on December 8, 2024, at approximately 3 a.m., the Kern County Fire Department responded to a report of a trailer fully engulfed in flames in the 12000 block of Edison Highway. During their investigation, KCSO discovered two bodies inside the trailer.
