Lauren Sjoblom Obituary, Death; – A 34-year-old woman who was fatally struck by a Long Beach Transit bus has been identified as Lauren Sjoblom, according to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office. The incident occurred on Tuesday at approximately 6:55 p.m. at the intersection of Shoreline Drive and Seventh Street, as reported by the Long Beach Police Department.

The preliminary investigation indicated that the Long Beach Transit bus was traveling northbound on Shoreline Drive, just south of Seventh Street, when it collided with the pedestrian who was in the roadway and not within a crosswalk.

The police statement noted that the bus driver reported the incident. Long Beach Transit is cooperating with the ongoing investigation, and at this stage, factors such as speed, distracted driving, and impaired driving do not seem to have contributed to the collision. Emergency responders from the Long Beach Fire Department arrived at the scene and attempted to perform life-saving measures; however, Sjoblom was pronounced dead at the location.

Authorities are encouraging anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Detective David Dougherty at 562-570-7355. Additionally, individuals can reach out to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS or visit the website www.LACrimeStoppers.org.
