Kitana Kendrick Obituary, Death; – Rochester police have confirmed the identity of the woman who was fatally shot in northeast Rochester early on Sunday morning.

Kitana Kendrick, aged 31, from Rochester, was struck by a stray bullet near Pulaski Park on Gothic Street at approximately 1:50 a.m. on Sunday, November 2, as stated by Capt. Frank Umbrino of the Rochester Police Department. Officers responded to the location after reports of gunfire in the vicinity, he noted. Kendrick, who sustained at least one gunshot wound to the torso, was discovered lying in the street.

She was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where she was declared deceased, according to Umbrino.

It seems that Kendrick was hit by a stray bullet resulting from an argument that escalated, Umbrino explained. At the time of the shooting, Kendrick was on Gothic Street and was with individuals involved in the dispute; however, she was “not the intended target of the gunfire,” Umbrino added.

According to police, none of the individuals involved in the argument resided on Gothic Street.

As of now, no charges have been filed related to the homicide. Authorities urge anyone with information or video footage to contact 911, the RPD’s Major Crimes Unit at (585) 428-7157, CrimeStoppers at (585) 423-9300, or to email MajorCrimes@cityofrochester.gov.
