Kimberly Harvey Pollard Obituary, Death; – A fugitive sought in connection with a fatal shooting in Meriwether County has been apprehended. Jamire Jones, aged 22, was taken into custody at a residence in Manchester on October 29. He is currently being held without the possibility of bond.
Jones was implicated in the investigation surrounding the death of 46-year-old Kimberly Harvey-Pollard. Pollard was fatally shot in March 2023 when her home on Tuskegee Lane in Manchester was struck by gunfire, with a single bullet hitting her in the head while she was asleep.
Jones was the final suspect to be arrested in this case, facing multiple charges, including:
– Murder
– Malice Murder
– Aggravated Assault
– Criminal Damage to Property in the First Degree
During a press conference in September, officials revealed that ten suspects, ranging in age from 17 to 22, were linked to the incident. While nine individuals had been apprehended, Jones remained at large and was believed to be in Tennessee. At that time, his last known location was Knoxville, Tennessee, and the U.S. Marshals Service was actively pursuing him.
This arrest resulted from a search warrant operation executed by the United States Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force, in collaboration with the Meriwether County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) West Metro Drug Task Force.
Sheriff Smith stated, “We now have all known suspects, totaling ten, in custody for this heinous crime that took place on March 19, 2023, on Tuskegee Lane in Manchester, Georgia. We are dedicated to pursuing justice for the victim and her family. The cooperative efforts of local, state, and federal agencies were crucial in capturing the suspect.”
