Jerry Encinia,Jakobe McDonald Obituary, Death; – The Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the two individuals who lost their lives in a shooting incident that originated from a confrontation outside a club in Corpus Christi. The deceased are Jerry Encinia, aged 29, and Jakobe McDonald, aged 20.
As of Wednesday, no arrests have been made in relation to the shooting, according to senior officer Antonio Contreras. Law enforcement arrived at the scene at 2:37 a.m. on Sunday, located in the 5400 block of South Staples Street, where they discovered the two men deceased.
According to Contreras, the incident began when two groups were engaged in an argument in the parking lot, leading one individual from one group to draw a firearm, which prompted a member of the opposing group to do the same. Additionally, two other men were transported to local hospitals with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Detectives do not consider this incident to be a random act of violence. The investigation is currently ongoing, and detectives have urged anyone who was present at the club during the shooting and possesses information or video evidence to reach out to them at 361-886-2840.
