Kendre Pride Obituary, Death; – A 20-year-old man, recognized as a prominent two-sport athlete during his high school years, was fatally shot at a Phoenix apartment, as reported by the police.
Law enforcement officers arrived at an apartment complex located near the intersection of 32nd and Glendale avenues at approximately 5:10 p.m. on June 7, following reports of gunfire. They discovered Kendre Pride suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to department spokesperson Sgt. Rob Scherer.
Unfortunately, Pride succumbed to his injuries and was declared dead at the scene, Scherer stated. The investigation has since been taken over by homicide detectives, Scherer noted. It remains unclear whether the police have identified any suspects.
He urged anyone with information about the incident to reach out to Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish, to provide an anonymous tip. Scherer mentioned that rewards would be offered for information that leads to an arrest in this case.
Pride was recognized as a leading junior two-sport athlete in the state, having transferred from Carl Hayden Community High School in Phoenix to Chandler’s Basha High School in 2022, where he played as a running back in football and as a guard in basketball.
According to the school’s website, he was also listed as having played as a defensive back at Feather River College in Quincy, California, in the fall of 2024.
