Katie Sawyer Obituary, Death; – A woman from Greenville has been charged following a fatal accident this morning that resulted in the death of a woman from New Bern.
According to the Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at approximately 7:40 a.m. at the intersection of Lester Mills Road and Joe Stocks Road, located north of Chicod. Troopers report that Kendra Hubert was traveling north on Joe Stocks when she failed to stop at the intersection.
As a result, her pickup truck collided with an SUV that was proceeding west on Lester Mills. Katie Sawyer, aged 25, lost her life when her SUV veered off the road and overturned onto a brick pillar. Hubert, who is 34 years old, has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.
