Karen Cameron Obituary, Death; – An 82-year-old individual has died after being struck by a school bus in Tippecanoe County on Monday afternoon.
The Tippecanoe County Coroner’s Office reported that they were alerted to a pedestrian being hit by a Tippecanoe County School Corporation bus in the vicinity of 5900 State Road 43 North in West Lafayette at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Monday, October 13.
The pedestrian was declared dead at the scene.
The coroner’s office has identified the deceased as Karen Cameron, 82, from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
An autopsy is set to take place on Thursday, October 16.
“Our heartfelt sympathies and condolences are extended to the family, and we trust that they will be afforded privacy during this challenging time,” stated Chief Deputy Coroner Caroline Garvin Hanau in a news release.
This matter is currently under investigation.
