Kandyce Marie Williams Obituary, Death; – A woman from Trussville was fatally shot during an alleged assault last night in Brighton, as reported by the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Kandyce Marie Williams.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office stated that deputies were dispatched to the Brighton Police Department at 12:26 a.m. on Friday to investigate a shooting incident. Upon their arrival, personnel from Birmingham Fire and Rescue were already present and had declared her deceased.
The preliminary investigation by the sheriff’s office indicates that the victim was transported to the Brighton Police Department for assistance after being shot at an undisclosed location. The investigation is ongoing.
