Jymatric Pickens Obituary, Death; – One individual has lost their life, and no arrests have been executed following a shooting incident that occurred in Prichard over the weekend.
Authorities from the Prichard Police Department and the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office reported their response to a residence located on the 1000 block of Dade Street on Sunday, where they discovered one fatality. As detailed in a news release from the MCSO, Jymatric Pickens was shot and killed after allegedly assaulting his mother.
“The deceased, Jymatric Pickens, arrived at his mother’s residence on the morning of the incident,” the release stated. “Jymatric began to threaten his mother and subsequently attacked her. A younger brother, who witnessed the altercation, entered the room and discharged a firearm at Jymatric. Jymatric sustained multiple gunshot wounds and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.”
Officials indicated that further investigations revealed that the Prichard Police Department had previously been summoned to the home on multiple occasions due to incidents involving Pickens attacking his mother.
Following the shooting, interviews were conducted, and authorities confirmed that no arrests have been made.
