Joseph Tanner Obituary, Death; – A man has been arrested after allegedly shooting another man at Beaver Lake Campground in Calvin. According to the West Virginia State Police, on Wednesday September 11 at 7:19 P.M., Nicholas County 911 received a call about a shooting at the campground.
Additional calls advised them that a victim was lying on the ground with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was identified as 69-year old Joseph Tanner, of Summerville.
The suspect was identified as 59-year old Cliff Salisbury of Mount Nebo. Authorities were told that he was walking around the area while carrying a rifle.
Multiple troopers and deputies arrived at the scene, and were able to locate and arrest Salisbury without further incident. Joseph Tanner was pronounced deceased on the scene. The WVSP are conducting an investigation of the murder at this time.
