Joseph Fierro Obituary, Death;- Authorities Monday identified a 59-year-old man who died after being shot on the eastbound Pomona (60) Freeway in Pomona.
The man, identified by the Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office as Joseph Fierro, died at a hospital.
California Highway Patrol officers were called to the freeway near the Garey Avenue off-ramp at 8:30 p.m. July 21 regarding a shooting, Officer Sergio Garcia told City News Service. When they arrived at the location, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body or neck.
One person was detained in connection with the shooting, but was not charged. The investigation into the shooting remains open. Fierro’s place of residence was not disclosed.
