Jose Rivas Obituary, Death; – Authorities have identified an individual who passed away following a weekend collision in the Midlands.
Margaret Fisher, the Lexington County Coroner, reported that 24-year-old Jose Rivas from West Columbia succumbed to injuries sustained in a crash on Interstate 26 early Sunday morning.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Rivas was operating a Mitsubishi sedan that was traveling eastbound on the interstate when it veered off the road, collided with a guardrail, and subsequently overturned.
Officials confirmed that Rivas was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Fisher also mentioned that Rivas was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
