Jordan Jerome Jeffery Obituary, Death;- A teenager from suburban Chicago has been recognized as the motorcyclist who tragically lost his life in a harrowing accident on a Chicago-area expressway last week.
Jordan Jerome Jeffery, 18, hailing from Waukegan, succumbed to “blunt force injuries” resulting from a motorcycle collision on Interstate 294, as reported by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
The incident occurred shortly after 2:30 p.m. on the expressway, located west of Wolfe Road in Franklin Park on Thursday.
According to police, two vehicles—a Mercedes Sprinter and a freightliner truck-tractor—were moving slowly due to “heavy traffic congestion.” A Kawasaki motorcycle, maneuvering between lanes, lost control and collided with the rear of the Mercedes Sprinter, as stated by state police.
The motorcyclist “became airborne and landed on the roadway,” where he was subsequently struck by the truck-tractor, authorities indicated.
Jeffery was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The medical examiner’s office classified his death as an accident.
In his obituary, family and friends described Jeffery as “known for his fearless spirit and his passion for living life to the fullest.”
“He had a unique ability to illuminate every room he entered. With his radiant smile and positive energy, he made others feel acknowledged, appreciated, and uplifted,” the obituary stated. “Jordan impacted everyone he encountered through his kindness, joy, and unwavering belief in others. Whether on the field or in his daily life, Jordan exemplified leadership, bravery, and compassion.”
Jeffery was set to celebrate his 19th birthday in December.
A visitation is planned for Saturday at The Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Waukegan.
