Jonathan Peter Garcia Obituary, Death; – A local resident lost his life, and two others sustained severe injuries in a head-on collision that occurred on South Turnpike Road over the weekend, as reported by state police. Connecticut State Police have identified the deceased as 42-year-old Jonathan Peter Garcia, who reportedly veered out of his lane while navigating a curve at approximately 3:50 p.m. on Sunday.
Garcia collided with a Chevrolet Silverado, which contained two occupants, just south of the Mansion Road intersection, according to police. Authorities indicated that they had attempted to stop Garcia’s Cadillac Escalade prior to the incident due to his erratic driving behavior. Following the crash, Garcia was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The two individuals in the Chevrolet, a 33-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman, both from New Haven, were also taken to the hospital with suspected serious injuries. The Central District Major Crime Squad and the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad of the agency are currently conducting an investigation into the incident, as stated by police.
