John Corbett Obituary, Death; – The Richland County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the individual who lost his life in a tragic hit-and-run incident in Columbia last week. However, the investigation to locate the individual responsible for this fatality is still ongoing.

Coroner Naida Rutherford announced on Sunday that the deceased was 71-year-old John Corbett, a resident of Columbia. Corbett was fatally injured in the incident that occurred around 6 p.m. on December 19 in the 5400 block of Farrow Road, where he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

As of now, the Columbia Police have not made any arrests related to this case. On Friday, law enforcement officials released surveillance images of the vehicle believed to be involved in the incident. The vehicle in question is described as a burgundy truck, potentially a 2013-2017 Ford F150, which is noted to have a missing hubcap on the driver’s side and dark window tint.

In addition, the coroner’s office has stated that they are actively collaborating with the Columbia Police Department to thoroughly investigate this hit-and-run case. Coroner Rutherford emphasized this commitment in a recent statement. Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the vehicle or the incident to reach out to Crimestoppers at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372).
