Jayvion Jones Obituary, Death: – The Sumter County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of the shooting victim from Tuesday as 16-year-old Jayvion Jones, a resident of Hampton, Georgia. Coroner Robbie Baker stated that Jones succumbed to injuries sustained during the incident.
Authorities indicated that Jones was discovered deceased at the scene at approximately 8:30 p.m. The shooting occurred at the intersection of Black River Road and Edens Road in Dalzell. An autopsy is set to take place on Saturday at the Medical University in Charleston.
Sheriff Anthony Dennis has classified the incident as a suspicious death. The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office is currently in the preliminary phases of the investigation, employing all available resources to collect information and ascertain the details surrounding the shooting.
