Jax Affolter Obituary, Death; 2 Teens Killed in Head-On Crash While Celebrating Friend’s 15th Birthday

Jax Affolter Obituary, Death; – Two teenagers have lost their lives following a head-on collision in Minnesota.

The incident involving two vehicles took place at the junction of Stacy Trail and Ivywood Trail in Chisago City, shortly before 2 a.m. local time on Saturday, October 25, as reported by a news release from the Lakes Area Police Department.

According to police, a 2014 Toyota Camry, operated by a 14-year-old male and carrying two 15-year-old male passengers, collided with a 2000 Toyota 4-Runner, which was driven by a 17-year-old boy and had an 18-year-old male passenger.

One of the two 15-year-olds was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other two occupants of the Camry were taken to Regions Hospital with serious injuries. One of the injured individuals was airlifted from the site.

The 17-year-old driver of the Toyota succumbed to his injuries at the same hospital hours after the accident. The 18-year-old passenger was transported by ambulance to a different hospital, although police did not disclose any information regarding their condition.

The Chisago Lakes Hockey Association has announced that one of the victims who perished in the crash is Jax Affolter, describing him as “a much-loved son, brother, friend, and teammate.”

“Today, we as a hockey family grieve the loss of Jax and are committed to supporting his family,” the association stated. “His brother is currently a Wildcat in our Mite program.”

The organization also provided a link to a Meal Train for the family of the 15-year-old. As of the morning of Monday, October 27, over $10,000 has been raised through the platform.

Friends of the 17-year-old who lost his life are also expressing their feelings following the tragic accident. Western Romero mentioned that he had known the teen since he was four years old and asserted that “everyone loved him,” according to NBC affiliate KARE.

Shocked, I mean it hasn’t hit me,” Romero said, according to FOX affiliate KMSP. “I don’t think it’s hit anyone here that we’re not going to see him on this planet again, so everyone’s kind of hit in different ways. Everyone’s grieving in other ways.”

The mom of the second 15-year-old boy said her son was celebrating his 15th birthday when the crash occurred, KARE reported. He sustained multiple injuries, including two broken legs, according to a GoFundMe started to support the teen and his family following the crash.
