Janet Crouch Obituary, Death;- The Charleston County Coroner has confirmed the identity of the individual who was fatally shot in the West Ashley area on Sunday evening. Janet Crouch, a 37-year-old resident of Charleston, succumbed to her injuries at approximately 8:02 p.m. at the location of the incident on Hollywood Drive, as stated by Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal.
The preliminary cause of death has been determined to be an apparent gunshot wound, according to a press release from the coroner’s office. Law enforcement officials were dispatched to a residence on Hollywood Drive shortly after 8 p.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered Crouch with gunshot wounds. During the ongoing investigation, officers from the Charleston Police Department have indicated that Crouch may have been targeted by an acquaintance.
The police have emphasized that there is no evidence to suggest that this was a random act of violence. Detectives continue to investigate the shooting and are focused on uncovering the complete circumstances surrounding the event.
