James Oates Obituary, Death;- A pedestrian who was pushing a shopping cart was hit and killed by a vehicle on Highway 96 in Fort Valley early Wednesday morning.
As reported by Police Chief DJ Flores, the incident occurred between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. on E. Church St near Brawell St.
Peach County’s Kerry Rooks informed WGXA that the individual, identified as 65-year-old James Oates, was pushing a shopping cart at the moment of the collision.
Rooks declared Oates dead at approximately 2:40 a.m. and mentioned that the case is being treated as a hit-and-run.
Flores stated that the Georgia State Patrol’s (GSP) Special Collision Reconstruction Team is looking into the accident.
