James Denger Obituary, Death; – Amherst police reported that a 69-year-old pedestrian lost his life on Sunday after being struck by a vehicle.

The victim has been identified as James Denger, a resident of Amherst. Authorities stated that they received a call at 8:45 p.m. regarding the incident at the intersection of South Lake Street and Milan Avenue.

According to a preliminary investigation, Mr. Denger was lying in the roadway before the collision occurred, as indicated in a news release from the officers. Emergency responders declared the 69-year-old deceased at the scene.

The driver involved, an 85-year-old man whose identity has not been disclosed, remained at the location following the incident. The crash is still under investigation, and the roadway was closed for approximately three hours.
