Jahseem,Alicia Obituary, Death; – A vigil took place on Sunday evening to pay tribute to two teenagers who lost their lives in a tragic accident in Riverside. Friends convened at the crash site, where they established a memorial adorned with flowers and balloons. While authorities have yet to officially disclose the names of the victims, friends have identified them as 17-year-old Jahseem and 18-year-old Alicia.

“He brought so many people together,” remarked friend Israel De La Torre regarding Jah. “Anyone who was friends with him became my friend as well because of our connection. He united everyone … just a wonderful spirit taken too soon. As for Alicia, I have only met her a few times, but she seemed to be a remarkable person.”

The incident occurred around 5:40 a.m. on Sunday along Wood Road, just north of Van Buren Boulevard. According to the Riverside Police Department, initial investigations indicate that a Lexus was traveling north on Wood Road at a high speed when the driver ran a red light at Van Buren.

Police repJahseemorted that the driver of a blue Scion was proceeding west on Van Buren with a green light when the collision occurred with the Lexus. “Following the collision, the Lexus continued northbound, colliding with a cement light pole, a wooden electrical pole, and a tree before finally coming to a halt and catching fire,” stated the police in a press release.

The driver of the Scion, described only as an adult male, was unharmed and had no passengers. He remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police. The two teenagers were pronounced dead at the scene, while a third passenger in the Lexus, a 17-year-old boy, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Authorities indicated that “alcohol and drugs are suspected factors contributing to this collision, along with vehicle speed.” The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Anyone with further information is encouraged to reach out to Traffic Detective Amanda Beeman at 951-826-8723 or ABeeman@RiversideCA.gov.
