Jaedyn Williams Obituary, Death; – The 18-year-old individual who was fatally shot at the MultiCare Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma earlier this month has been named, as reported by the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Jaedyn Williams, hailing from University Place, succumbed to his injuries on August 6 near the 1900 block of South Union Avenue due to a gunshot wound to the torso. The office classified his death as a homicide in a news release. Prosecutors have charged Martice Lawon Ryan, 25, with first-degree murder and first-degree assault in connection with the shooting. Ryan is also alleged to have shot and injured Williams’ girlfriend at the hospital.

According to charging documents, Williams and his girlfriend were in the waiting area of the hospital’s emergency room due to his elbow pain. The woman recounted to investigators that Ryan entered the waiting room shortly after they checked in. He approached them with an arm concealed within his hoodie and questioned Williams about why he was staring at him, as per the documents.

Williams responded that he was not staring. Ryan then inquired if Williams knew him, to which the victim replied that he did not. The documents indicate that Ryan allegedly brandished a firearm and opened fire on the victims. The woman informed the police that she did not recognize Ryan and that they had not interacted prior to their arrival at the hospital.

During Ryan’s arraignment on Monday, Williams’ father implored Pierce County Court Commissioner Barbara McInvaille to deny bail. “This wasn’t merely a homicide, your honor; this was an act of terror. This incident occurred in a hospital, a place where anyone in this community should feel secure,” he stated. Ryan is currently being held at the Pierce County Jail without bail. Arguments regarding bail are scheduled for a future hearing.
