India Heath Obituary, Death; – A man from Georgia is facing several criminal charges following the discovery of an 18-year-old woman who was shot and critically injured, found curled up along a road in Denville on Christmas Eve.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. on December 24, authorities located the victim at the typically quiet intersection of Old Boonton Road and Pocono Road, where she had been shot in the abdomen and was lying in a fetal position, according to police reports.

Investigators determined that 37-year-old Jovan Young had been in the company of the victim, who has since been identified as India Heath, earlier that day.

Both Young and Heath are from Georgia, but they also have connections to New Jersey, as stated by Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll.

On December 25, law enforcement located Young in Boonton, where they seized a 9mm handgun along with several magazines filled with hollow point ammunition.

Young faces charges including third-degree endangering an injured person, second-degree charges for possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon, as well as fourth-degree charges for possession of hollow point ammunition and for being a certain person not permitted to possess weapons or ammunition.

He has been remanded to Morris County Jail, awaiting upcoming court proceedings.
