Ho Yu Wong Obituary, Death; – The individual retrieved from the ocean at Rodeo Beach in Marin County on Tuesday has been identified. The Marin County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the victim is 78-year-old Ho Yu Wong from Oakland.
Wong was extracted from the water by nearby witnesses on Tuesday afternoon and was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:19 p.m. due to cardiac arrest, as reported by authorities. He had been fishing for mussels along the shoreline of Rodeo Beach when he fell into the water, according to the sheriff’s office.
Rescue teams from various agencies conducted a search of the water for approximately 45 minutes, concluding their efforts around 3:30 p.m.
On Monday, the National Park Service issued a beach hazard warning regarding sneaker waves, which remained in effect until 11 a.m. on Wednesday. The search operation involved collaboration from the National Park Service, United States Coast Guard, California Highway Patrol, and Southern Marin Fire District.
