Gregory A Pipps Obituary, Death;- A 72-year-old man from Bardstown has been identified as the individual found deceased in a vehicle submerged in a pond in northeast Nelson County.
According to officials from Kentucky Fish and Wildlife, they suspect that Gregory A. Pipps experienced a “medical emergency” prior to his vehicle entering the water late Sunday night.
Emergency responders from the Northeast Nelson County Fire Department discovered him around 10:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Chaplin Road, following a report from a caller who noticed taillights in the pond.
Authorities indicated that the car was submerged approximately 65 feet from the shore, and crews utilized a boat to reach the vehicle. An autopsy has been scheduled as the investigation by Kentucky Fish and Wildlife continues.
