Gary Deleo Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identity of the 64-year-old man who was tragically killed by a front-end loader on Magee Avenue on Wednesday. Gary Deleo, a resident of Stamford, lost his life while assisting a customer at his place of employment, according to Sgt. Jeffrey Booth.

Sgt. Booth reported that a 24-year-old local individual was operating the loader at the time of the incident. This individual spoke with law enforcement officers present at the scene and did not sustain any injuries.

Deleo was subsequently taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The investigation into this fatal incident is being conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) in conjunction with the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Squad of the police department, as stated by Booth.

“In incidents of this nature, OSHA serves as the primary investigative authority,” Booth noted. “The Stamford Police Department will assist OSHA throughout their inquiry and will provide a final assessment once all involved parties have concluded their investigations.”

Booth also mentioned that the business where Deleo was employed is situated at 124 Magee Avenue. Records indicate that two businesses are registered at this location: a landscape supply company and a concrete delivery service.
